Anglican Church of Umuahia Diocese, Bishop Geoffrey Obijuru Ibeabuchi has challenged Abia State Government led by Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu to refrain from display of projects on the social media but rather translate all for the people to see her achievements.

Bishop Ibeabuchi amidst pains reminded the present administration of Dr. Ikpeazu
that all, including those in Government shall give account of their deeds while on the earth on the day of reckoning.

Speaking during an interactive session with some Journalists, today, at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Umuahia, the state’s capital, the aggrieved Clergy noted blankly that the church would not hesitate to call those in authority to order if the need arises, pointing out that the latter had been elected to better the lots of the masses and not the reverse, as it were.

Hear him: “All I have to say to the Government of Abia State is that they’re accountable to God and also to man. We voted them in for our good. So, they should do everything possible to protect us and to take care of us.

“Everybody in Government has been appointed to take care of the masses and when we’re not seeing it as a church, we will not keep quiet or behave as if nothing is happening.”

The Anglican Bishop who evidently feels the heartache of the masses which inarguably is blamed on poor governance, charged the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu to rise up to the challenges of time, insisting that, “they cannot just be telling us government is doing this and government is doing that.

He expressed acrimony towards the deplorable state of things in the state particularly basic facilities such like road network, portable water, among others, lamenting that the state looks out of place when compared to others sister-states.

“If you leave Abia State for other states in the federation, it appears like Abia is a forgotten state as regards infrastructure and the rest.

“So, we want to appeal to the Government, they will list the things they are doing, thank God for the things they are doing but we want to see them not just to show them on the social media and the news rather we want to see them translated physically.”
