The shooting of four of the five armed robbery suspects in Umuahia, Abia State, on Wednesday, has sprung up a deluge of questions in the minds of some well meaning Abians, as they ask rhetorically about the whereabouts of the purportedly missing suspect.
Famous Reporters recalls that the suspects, Precious Chukwuebuka Okoro ‘M’, Ogbonna Ifeanyichukwu JUSTICE ‘M’, Enyinna Asiegbu ‘M’, Promise Sunday Obilor ‘Alias Esere”M’, Emezuo Kimgsley ’Alias ‘Pakins’ ‘M’ were on Tuesday, paraded at Police headquarters, in Umuahia, shortly after a press conference with the commissioner of police, CP Ene Okon.
Reportedly, the dreaded notorious armed robbery gang was responsible for the reported the death of one Mr. Basil Odoemela, an indigene of Nkwere, in Imo state whom they sporadically shot at Post Office, opposite NUJ press center, Umuahia, on his way back from one of the commercial banks where he withdrew the total sum of #1m.
Also, the same gang , on Saturday’s night, simultaneously killed
Mr. & Mrs. Darlington Ezenwa in the presence of their kids in, after robbing them of their proceeds from the day’s sale.
However, a source who spoke with Famous Reporters but pleaded for anonymity has this account provides the below information:
“On Wednesday 29th January, 2020 ,The Nigerian police van was attacked by hoodlums on their way to arrest other gang members and recover guns and ammunitions used by the robbery suspects that killed Ebonyi businessman and his wife in front of their children at world bank housing estate”.
Based on confession of the robbery suspects, the police took them in their van to recover the guns and ammunitions used by the suspects and their gang in their hideout at Amakanma Olokoro village in Umuahia on Wednesday morning but the hoodlums opened fire on them as they arrive at the scene of the criminal den.
“While the attack lasted, the hoodlums killed the suspects and injured the driver and other policemen in the vehicle”.
“The police officers were seriously wounded by the attack and they are receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital for security reasons”.
