Shock in Zimbabwe: Fourth Wife Stabs Husband Over Affair With ‘Sister’, Married Friend
“A shocking tale of betrayal, family boundaries shattered, and a marriage spiraling into violence has emerged from Zimbabwe, where a woman allegedly stabbed her husband after uncovering intimate relationships with her own “sister” and a married friend—triggering a legal battle that has stunned many.”
“A Zimbabwean woman allegedly stabbed her husband after discovering he was involved with her cousin—considered a “sister” culturally—and a married friend. The incident escalated into a legal dispute involving compensation claims and child maintenance.”
A businessman in Domboshava, Zimbabwe, has become the focus of a disturbing domestic and legal dispute after his fourth wife allegedly stabbed him during a heated confrontation over claims of infidelity.
Judith Maruta, 33, was detained for two weeks following the incident involving her husband, Kefas Mushore, 50. The case has since escalated into a complex legal battle involving maintenance claims and a compensation demand reportedly amounting to $50,000.
According to Maruta, the altercation was triggered after she discovered her husband’s alleged relationships with her cousin, Tabeth Banda, and a married friend.
“I failed to stomach a situation where my husband was bedding my married friend and sister,” she said, referencing cultural norms in Zimbabwe where cousins are often regarded as siblings.
She explained that the confrontation turned violent during an argument, leading her to stab Mushore in the leg. “I failed to stomach a situation where my husband was bedding my married friend and sister,” she repeated.
Following the incident, Maruta was fined and ordered to pay restitution. However, she alleged that her husband later secured a protection order and is now seeking substantial compensation, claiming the injury has affected his mobility.
Banda admitted to the relationship, citing financial support from Mushore as a key factor. “Mushore had been assisting me with money behind my sister’s back, and I could not reject everything he was offering,” she said.
“I could not disclose his intentions because it could have caused more problems,” Banda added, confirming she acknowledged the relationship when confronted. “After she found out, my sister confronted me angrily, and I admitted to dating her husband.”
As the case heads before a Domboshava magistrate, Maruta is also seeking increased maintenance for their two children.
“I regret the polygamous marriage. It has left me without some of my properties, including two houses and a car,” she said, describing her current situation as “miserable.”
