The Northern Governors Forum has condemned in totality, the ghastly killing of Ahmed Gulak, yesterday, in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.
The deceased was a former Special Adviser to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on Political Matters.
In a statement released by the Forum Chairman and Plateau Governor, Simon Lalong, the awful of fate that befell Gulak was described as unfortunate.
Lalong, in his remarks, insisted that the incident should be treated as a criminal act, warning that politicization of issues surrounding the death could lead to further violence, while urging all Nigerians to condemn the incident in totality
Meanwhile, the governors advised the security agencies to, after engaging the suspected killers, consolidate on intelligence and to forestall a future occurrence.
The statement further regretted the abduction of citizens across three local government areas of Niger State, including students and teachers of an Islamic school.
Lalong called for an end to the horrible situation, saying people must be able to engage in their legitimate activities without fear.
