I’ve built good houses for a lot of people, including my gate man. I’ve done philanthropic for many years. It’s just a part of me. But, I have this urge in me to extend it to the good people of Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South, if given the opportunity.

I also pledged to deliver authentic, people-oriented projects and to connect them to the dividends of quality democracy in Nigeria.”

While acknowledging arguments in favor of continuity, Ugorji expressed strong reservations about the performance of the current officeholder.

This is even as one of the stakeholders had raised questions on the need to allow the incumbent representative, Hon. Obinna Aguocha complete his second tenure.

“I believe there is a need for the incumbent to be given a second opportunity. However, I have provided them with concrete information—well known to them—that the individual in question is not performing,” he stated.

He further emphasized growing dissatisfaction among constituents, saying:

“Yes, it will happen now—I understand the situation clearly. The individual is not performing well at all, and the people are aware of this. They even confirmed it themselves. Even among his supporters, there is clear dissatisfaction. They are not satisfied at all. When I spoke, they applauded because they understood the truth. The reality is that nothing significant has been done.”

“If given the opportunity, I will position myself within the right circles where decisions are made. From there, I can effectively attract opportunities, resources, and development that will directly benefit my people,” he explained.

Reaffirming his preparedness, Ugorji added:
“This is my team, and this is a serious business. I understand the constitution, and I know how to navigate the system to attract projects and development. My political journey is just beginning, and when I get the opportunity, I have no intention of slowing down.”

He concluded with a message of long-term commitment to service:

“I will continue to deliver meaningful results for my people to the point where they will look at me and say, ‘Max, do it again.”

Stakeholders’ Reactions

Responding, Ohajuruka who described Ugorji as a ” revered brother”, commended him for his good work in his immediate community and beyond, over the years.

He admitted pointedly to the evident capabilities of the aspirant to deliver to the people the dividends of democracy, as he charged other stakeholders to be weary of those who would disgrace them, as it were.

Speaking amidst intense agony, Ohajuruka thundered:
“We can’t continue to scream Umuahia North! Umuahia North! We need to change the narrative. We can do it. This is not a lie! My brother, we know you have capacity. Yes. Let me also advise us, my people; in this dispensation. It won’t be favourable to us if we send people who’ll go there and disgrace us even in this present situation.
