Over the past three weeks, members of the OFUJI Movement, with the generous support of the Chima Anyaso Foundation, have embarked on a humanitarian outreach across wards in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, providing food supplies and financial assistance to support residents during the sacred Lenten season.
The outreach programme, which holds every Sunday, has seen the team move from one ward to another, distributing essential food items while also providing ₦500,000 financial support to each ward to assist vulnerable families and community initiatives.
The initiative is aimed at easing economic hardship and reinforcing the spirit of compassion, sacrifice and community solidarity that defines the Christian season of Lent.
Yesterday, the outreach train arrived in Igbere Ward A and Igbere Ward B.
Although the initiator of the programme was unavoidably absent, he expressed deep appreciation after watching videos and photographs from the event, which captured the large turnout of residents and the visible joy on the faces of beneficiaries.
Reflecting on the outreach, he stated that the overwhelming support from the community filled his heart with gratitude and humility.
He said, “I sincerely thank God for giving us the opportunity to stand with our community, especially during a season that reminds us of sacrifice, compassion and love for one another.”
The outreach has continued to attract widespread commendation from community members who say the intervention has provided timely relief to many households.
He concluded with prayers for continued unity and progress, saying:
“May God continue to bless the good people of Bende Federal Constituency.
May God bless the Chima Anyaso Foundation.
And may God continue to bless Abia State.”
