A former Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, (aka. Okwadike) has urged Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State to as a matter of urgency, stop the Military invasion of homes in Obigbo, Rivers State and killing of suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, in Obigbo, Rivers State as allegedly ordered by the state Governor.

Dr. Ezeife gave this charged while reacting to the bloodbath in Obigbo also called Oyibo since the previous week, in the aftermath of the Nationwide #Endsars protests, stressing that such could culminate into severe and irreparable mistakes.

According to Okwadike who spoke with glaring exasperation, the IPOB is an unarmed freedom fighting outfit and consequently should not be accused of engaging in a battle with the Nigerian Army.

Dr. Ezeife though skeptical of Gov. Wike instilling the massacring of suspected members of the freedom fighting group, maintained that same called for thorough investigations.

Hear him: “Does the IPOB have guns? I can’t understand and somehow I doubt that Governor Wike can order the killing of any group of Nigerian in the Rivers State. A lot of investigation is required before anybody can make a comment. For one thing, the IPOB people are not known to have guns.
Therefore, there cannot be a shoot out between them and the military.

“I heard that also from Arise News and if it is true, it’s very deplorable. The Military is not supposed to be combing homes to arrest people. The moment they start doing so, they make mistakes and you cannot make mistakes with human lives. Whatever is happening should be stopped immediately.”

Reacting to the killing of unarmed protesters at Lekki Tollgate and subsequently other parts of the country, the prominent Igbo leader has this to say:

“At no time were the protesters armed; they were carrying the flag of Nigeria, and waving the flag of Nigeria and a time, some people switched off the street lights and removed the CCTV cameras and then the Military started shooting. There was no fighting back, the protesters never fought back; they had nothing to fight with.

Dr. Ezeife who exonerated the protesters from the alleged destruction and looting of property noted that, “some hoodlums were sponsored to disrupt the protests and eventually they began destroying and looting property. The protesters up until today did not fight back and do not intend to fight back.

“The protesters did not destroy anything rather it was done by the hoodlums hired to disrupt the protests by people in government”, he said, as he urged the people to pray hard so as to sustain the unity of the country.
