New Year 2026: Senator Mao Ohuabunwa Calls on Nigerians to Uphold Faith, Integrity, and National Unity
“Senator Mao Ohuabunwa’s New Year message urges Nigerians to uphold faith, integrity, and unity as the nation works toward peace and sustainable development.”
As Nigeria ushers in a new year, former Senator representing Abia South Senatorial District, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, PhD, has extended heartfelt New Year greetings to Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, urging them to embrace faith, integrity, and unity as the nation navigates a critical period.
According to him, “the dawn of a new year presents another opportunity for reflection, renewal of hope, and a deliberate realignment of our lives with values that truly matter.”

Senator Ohuabunwa acknowledged the persistent challenges confronting Nigeria and the global community, calling on citizens to remain steadfast in their faith in God, which he described as a vital source of strength, courage, and wisdom in times of uncertainty and adversity.
He stressed that faith should not be restricted to places of worship alone, but must find expression in daily conduct, both in personal and professional spheres.
“Our belief in God must reflect in how we live, work, and relate with one another. Let our faith guide our conduct, shape our integrity, and inspire excellence in our workplaces, businesses, public service, and interpersonal relationships,” he stated.
The former lawmaker noted that any nation anchored on godly values such as truth, diligence, compassion, and justice is bound to experience sustainable growth and development.
