Chief Okey Kanu, the newly elected to of Ukwa West LGA of Abia State has reaffirmed his commitments towards transforming the entire council through massive development.
Chief Kanu revealed this to Famous Reporters shortly after the swearing in exercise of all the council Chairmen of the various 17 LGA’s of the state, yesterday, at Michael Okpara Auditorium, in Umuahia, the state’s capital, noting that he is set to make the area second to none in the entire state.
According to the council boss, the people would witness massive development in a fraction of three months of assumption of office which, according to him would help provide employments for the teaming youths and at the same time, put at bay youth restiveness.”I’ve already put one or two things in place for my people. I already have some developmental programmes that I’ve done and I’m planning to do and within the next three months, they’ll start up.
He thanked the state Governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu for his magnanimity and fatherly love, while commending him for the conduct of the election in the state, in fulfilment of his words earlier spoken.”The Governor has been so magnanimous. No other Governors can do this. At least, he has done it in his tenure twice. So, I thank him so much.”Moreso, Chief kanu, while thanking his people and members of People’s Democratic Party, he emphasised the need for peace and unity, while urging the people to eschew bitterness, saying that those are enemies of development and progress.In addition, he appealed for their relentless support and cooperation, as he assured that he was determined to ensuring that dividends of democracy are delivered to them without reservations.
