Mayor Nwaka meets with Ikwuano youths
*Described youths as key players in community development

The Mayor of Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State and President of New Era Foundation (NEF), Mayor Osinachi Nwaka, has reiterated his unflinching commitment to empowering and advancing the lives of the youths in the area.

Ossy Nwaka who described as a Sine qua non, the role of youths in community development, stressed the importance of sustained engagement and collaboration between the government and youth representatives to drive positive change and progress.

Nwaka stated this during his recent meeting with community youth leaders of the Ikwuano, held at the Council headquarters, while assuring his administration’s proactive approach in tackling various pertinent issues that pose a challenge to the people.

Speaking during the meeting which aimed at strengthening bonds with the youths, Mayor Nwaka emphasized the pivotal role played by the youth in the advancement and prosperity of the local community.

Nwaka who underscored the significance of the active involvement of youths in local affairs, pledged his unalloyed support for programs designed to improve the latter’s well-being and future prospects.

Meanwhile , he used the medium to encourage the to continue their collaborative efforts in building a dynamic and inclusive community that caters to the aspirations of all its inhabitants.

Earlier, the youths representatives, amidst ecstasy, lauded the Founder of NEF, a Non Governmental Organisation aimed at eradicating penury from among the people, for his outstanding magnanimous roles in making better the lots of the Council members.

Moreso, the youths used the medium to highlight most of the challenges bedeviling the growth and development of the area.

Among the challenges faced by various communities as presented by the youths included education, skills acquisition, employment opportunities, and fostering youth entrepreneurship.

Corroborating, Comrd. David .N. Sylvanus, the President of Ikwuano Community Youth, in his remarks, appreciated Mayor Nwaka’s commitment to the development of Ikwuano and the empowerment of its youth.
