Kalu mourns death Of Ezeife, describes him as a courageous man
The President of ECK Foundation, Chief Dr. Emeka Kalu, has expressed condolences over the death of the former Governor of Old Anambra State and renowned Igbo leader Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife (Okwadike) who died yesterday as confirmed by his family.
Dr. Kalu mourns the loss of the highly respected Igbo leader and statesman at a difficult time in Ndi Igbo and Nigeria’s history when his statesmanly guidance, support, and stewardship were most needed. He described him as a courageous and strong-willed man whose services to Ndi Igbo and Nigeria will be greatly missed.
The Convener of Global Initiative for Good Governance, GIGG said, “I’m saddened by the passing of our respected leader and statesman, His Excellency, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife.” It is more terrible and devastating that Okwadike departed when Ndi Igbo and Nigeria needed his statesmanly leadership, support, and management.
As a brave and steadfast man, he spoke up on justice and good governance issues and stayed steady on the path of truth till the end.
As hard as it would be to fill his death’s void, I urge all those who loved, cherished, and supported him and his ideals while he lived and who want a better Igbo nation and Nigeria to draw inspiration from his exemplary conduct, which helped deepen our democracy, strengthen the Rule of Law, and open the doors of good governance opportunities.
I send my condolences to the Ezeife Dynasty of Igbo-Ukwu, Anambra State, and the nation on the death of the statesman and pray that God grants his soul eternal rest. Amen!
