IPADA Initiatives Releases 2025 Theme Song: ‘Africa—What You Are Looking For Is in Your Hands’ Goes Global

IPADA Initiatives has unveiled its official 2025 Celebration Theme Song titled, “Africa: What You Are Looking For Is in Your Hands (Ooun ti o n wa wa ni owo re).”
The inspirational song is dedicated to Africans in the diaspora, urging them to reconnect with their roots and reminding them, in the words of the organisers, that “home is home, and there is nowhere like home.”
According to IPADA Initiatives, the theme song underscores Africa’s abundant human and natural resources and calls for collective effort among Africans—both at home and abroad—to build a prosperous continent for present and future generations.
Described as a soulful and unifying melody, the song embodies the spirit of African identity and the essence of the IPADA Celebrations—an annual homecoming event for Africans from Brazil, the Caribbean, the Americas, Europe, Asia and other parts of the world. The celebration is held at the 65-acre La Campagne Tropicana Forest, River and Beach Resort in Lagos, Nigeria.
The 2025 theme track was performed by Nigeria’s celebrated talking drummer, singer, dancer and choreographer, Ara Thunder, whose “sonorous delivery,” the organisers say, gives the song its emotional depth. Ara Thunder has previously gained global attention as “the only African artiste who taught French President Emmanuel Macron how to beat the African drum.”
The management of La Campagne Tropicana Resort confirmed that Ara Thunder will perform the theme song live with the Atunda Entertainment Band—founded by tourism icon Otunba Wanle Akinboboye—during the IPADA Initiatives Celebrations 2025, a 10-day cultural, tourism and business fiesta running from November 28 to December 7, 2025.
Meanwhile, the song is already enjoying significant airplay on various music platforms across Nigeria and is expected to spread rapidly across the continent as all 55 African countries converge at the resort for the African International Music Festival on December 6, 2025.
