“When the coordinator did not take any action, we reported the entry into the disputed area by Mr Obeji Ilang to Noyo police on 24/2/2020. The Coordinator, on hearing that Mr Ilang was in police custody, came to the police station and announced to us that he was the one that directed this group to enter the disputed land.

When contacted on phone, the accused coordinator Emmanuel Ekuma denied the allegations that those things were not true, he said there was nothing like Alike Iron boys in his development center.

He acknowledged that the communual land was collected and handed over to the youths who according to him use the fund generated for community for developmental project in the community.

“Those things are not true, there is nothing like Iron boys. We don’t have any group by that name.

“The issue is that there is a communial land at Obeagu Ohatekwe in Enyibichiri Alike in Ikwo East. That land has been subject of conflict for a long time now and some particular group of persons constituted themselves into administration of the land.
Whenever they sale the land, the proceeds will be used into litigations.

“So we handed over that land over to youths to use it sell it and do  developmental project. The iron boys is not disturbing the peace of the community”.
