Ikwuano, Umuahia North & South to Host Grand Rally for Alex Otti

“A wave of political solidarity is set to sweep through Abia State this Friday as Ikwuano joins forces with Umuahia North and Umuahia South to honour Governor Alex Otti in a grand reception at Umuahia Stadium—an event widely seen as both a celebration of impactful governvance and an early signal of unified grassroots support ahead of the 2027 re-election race.”

A prominent son of Ikwuano Local Government Area, Dr. Monday Ubani, SAN, has called on residents of Ikwuano, Umuahia North, and Umuahia South to turn out en masse for a grand reception in honour of Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, scheduled to hold on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
In a statement, Ubani described the event as “a historic and symbolic gathering” aimed at celebrating what he termed “a new era of purposeful and people-oriented governance in Abia State.”
According to him, “this momentous occasion will not be merely ceremonial, but a heartfelt expression of appreciation for a leader whose governance style has inspired hope, attracted commendation, and restored confidence in public leadership.”
He commended Governor Otti’s strides in transparency, infrastructural development, and economic revitalisation, noting that such efforts have “redefined leadership and rekindled the people’s trust in governance across the state.”
Ubani further stated that the joint reception by the three local government areas represents “a powerful demonstration of collective gratitude, unity, and a shared commitment to continuity,” adding that the event is expected to leave a lasting impression on the people.
Issuing a call to action, he urged all indigenes and supporters of good governance to attend the rally. “We call on all sons and daughters of Ikwuano, Umuahia North, and Umuahia South, as well as lovers of good governance, to come out in large numbers to استقبال and celebrate our hardworking Governor,” he said.
He added that the gathering would also serve as an opportunity to reaffirm support ahead of the 2027 elections. “This event provides a platform for us to demonstrate our unwavering support and readiness to commit our time, energy, and resources towards ensuring a seamless re-election in 2027,” he stated.
Describing Governor Otti’s emergence in 2023 as providential, Ubani said, “the emergence of Governor Alex Otti was an act of divine mercy upon Abia State. Showing gratitude, therefore, is not only a virtue but a collective responsibility.”
He concluded with a call for unity and participation: “Let us come together this Friday in unity, joy, and appreciation to honour His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, a leader whom God has favoured and entrusted with the mandate to transform our state.”
