The Technical Assistant to Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State on Works and Transport, Chukwuorji Igodo (Esq), has expressed gratitude to the Governor for appointing Engr. Ogbonnaya Obasi Works and Transport Commissioner, saying with his appointment, all targets set in the ministry, had been reached.
Describing the Governor as a fisher of men and leader of leaders, the governor’s aide unequivocally pointed out that the appointment of Engr. Obasi, as Works Commissioner was the best thing ever that had been recorded in the history of Works and Transport Ministry over the years.
According to Igodo, in six months, concrete pavement dualisation of Afikpo-Amasiri Road was nearing 100 per cent completion, adding that, “Earth works from Amasiri Junction has reached Afikpo and it’s 100 per cent completed.”
He stated this in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen, a copy of which was obtained by Famous Reporters, in Abakaliki on Wednesday.
The statement reads in part:
“Hon. Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr Ogbonnaya Obasi, a superlative performer, as passionate as he’s diligent, ‘Nwoke ji oru ya kporo mkpa’, in marking his 6 months in office, should be proud of what he’s achieved so far.
“All thanks to His Excellency Chief (Evening) David Nweze Umahi FNATE FNSE, a fisher of men, a leader of leaders, the man in men, who brought out this raw/rare gem of a man, to man the all important important ministry of works & transport”.
“We the people of Ivo, Akaeze in particular, thanks His Excellency for this opportunity given to our son to manifest his capabilities”.
“In the last 6 months, concrete pavement dualization of Afikpo-Amasiri road was started and now 100% completed, having reached the awarded timbershed-Amasiri junction”.
“Earth works from Amasiri junction has reached Amasiri and it’s 100% completed. The Earth work for Ugwuachara-Ishieke road is 100% completed and the concrete pavement dualisation of the same road is 90% completed”.
“The excavation work at the Akaeze bridge site is 90% completed.
The college of health sciences Uburu Flyover has exceeded the estimated 50% and will be completed in record time. And other numerous projects of supervisory roles plus steering the ministry”.
“Come to think of it, Dave has developed Ebonyi State, whether you believe it or yes.
The man has shot Ebonyi 50 years into the future. When the rest of the country is saying there’s a casting down, Ebonyi is saying there’s a lifting up”.
“Don’t be surprised that even during the 2023 campaigns and elections periods, Dave will still be sighting new projects and delivering on all.
