Fidelity Bank Empowers Women with Skills, Tools in ‘Give Her Power’ Drive
“Fidelity Bank’s “Give Her Power” initiative is a women empowerment programme launched in March 2026 to provide Nigerian women with practical skills, vocational training, business support, and tools like sewing machines to boost income and economic independence.”
“In a bold move to transform lives and unlock financial independence, Fidelity Bank Plc is putting real power in the hands of Nigerian women—through practical skills, business support, and opportunities designed to create lasting economic impact.”
In commemoration of International Women’s Day 2026, Fidelity Bank Plc has unveiled a comprehensive series of masterclasses and empowerment initiatives aimed at equipping women with practical, income-generating skills, enhancing professional visibility, and accelerating career advancement throughout March 2026.
The programme, delivered under the bank’s women-focused platform, HerFidelity, aligns with the overarching theme, “Give to Gain,” which underscores the value of investing in women as a catalyst for broader economic growth.
On March 18, 2026, HerFidelity hosted a “Give to Gain” masterclass centered on communication and presentation skills. The session provided participants with practical insights into audience engagement, event moderation, confidence-building, and personal branding—key competencies for women seeking to strengthen their public speaking and professional presence.
Building on this momentum, a second event—the “Gele Masterclass”—is scheduled for March 30, 2026. The session will offer hands-on training in gele tying, positioning the traditional craft not only as a form of cultural expression but also as a viable income-generating skill for women entrepreneurs.
In addition to skills development, participants will benefit from professional headshot sessions designed to enhance their personal and professional profiles, boosting visibility in today’s competitive digital and business landscape.
Speaking on the initiative, Ugochi Osinigwe, Divisional Head, Small and Medium-scale Enterprises Banking at Fidelity Bank Plc, stated:
“At Fidelity Bank, we believe that empowering women economically creates an impact that extends beyond the individual. It strengthens families, grows businesses, and uplifts communities. That is why we have designed an elaborate plan to upskill women throughout this month. We want women to leave these sessions with practical tools they can apply immediately, whether that is speaking confidently in public, building a stronger personal brand, or learning a skill that can generate income.”
Earlier in March, the bank reinforced its commitment to women’s economic empowerment through the signing of strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with partner organisations during the launch of its “Give Her Power” initiative on March 5, 2026.
These partnerships, anchored on the HerFidelity Apprenticeship Programme, are designed to expand access to vocational training, business support, and sustainable enterprise opportunities for women across diverse sectors.
As part of the initiative, Fidelity Bank is also distributing 1,000 sewing and grinding machines to support women-led microbusinesses across Nigeria—further strengthening grassroots economic participation.
Ranked among Nigeria’s leading financial institutions, Fidelity Bank Plc serves over 10 million customers through its digital banking platforms, 255 business offices nationwide, and its United Kingdom subsidiary, FidBank UK Limited.
The bank has received multiple local and international recognitions, including the 2024 Excellence in Digital Transformation & MSME Banking Award by BusinessDay BAFI Awards, the 2024 Most Innovative Mobile Banking Application by Global Business Outlook, and the 2024 Most Innovative Investment Banking Service Provider by Global Brands Magazine. It was also named Best Bank for SMEs in Nigeria by the Euromoney Awards for Excellence.
