Chairman/CEO of Trustlink Ventures Nig. Ltd, in affiliation with Tex American Investigative and Security Services Inc, USA has blamed the hike in extortion and other corruptible acts of the Nigeria Police, on the outright negligence of the Federal government of Nigeria over the years.

Amb Eld. Dr. Chukwunazom Cyra Obi while reacting to the Nationwide protests in an exclusive interview with Famous Reporters lamented that the Police had over the years been inadequately funded in the country.

img 20201017 183606 14132478868435020900Dr. Chukwunazom, however, explained that the essence of the said protest was misconstrued by some individuals, who according to him had assumed it was aimed ending the harassment of youths involved in cybercrime, reiterating that the protest is not a mere clarion call to.

Hear him: “Some people are clueless, some seem not to understand the reason for the protest, some think it’s all about to stop the disturbance of Yahoo men but it has in depth meaning.

Continuing, he said: “Police is less funded in this country. This protest should be that police be funded. If you say you are stopping SARS and that same SARS will be deployed into another section in the police force and they can be doing same thing they are doing while they were in SARS in another section.”

The Security boss urged the Buhari led government to expedite plan for effective funding of the Police Force, noting that it would pave the way in putting at bay their excesses, ranging from aggression, brutality, extortion, intimidation and all issues of unlawful use of firearms on the citizenry.

“What is suppose to be is for the nation to fund the police force adequately, they made the police become tempted and know what is suppose to be their reference, so that they don’t deviate and do what they are not suppose to do.

Speaking further, he said: “there are incentives that are   accrued to police like children of the reputable police officer’s are supposed to be given free education, these would ignite them tell their parents that their is no need bringing in dirty money.

“And if police is properly funded, there wouldn’t be any need looking for what is supposed not to be done trying to amass wealth by all means.

Furthermore, he outlined that there ought to be a wide margin between security operation and politics, stressing that the duo should not be juxtaposed despite all odds, pointing out that they do not have any correlation, whatsoever.

“Security operations are not to be done alongside with politics. They are two different things ,so they should be separated. So the protest should not be all about stop SARS. SARS are to be stopped because of their essence .

“The nation should be made to fund police properly make them to be contended so that they wouldn’t be tempted to do what they are not suppose to do as security officers. If someone are contended with what she/he is doing there wouldn’t be any point deviating from he/she is doing trying to amass wealth”, he said.
