ECK Foundation Women Launches in Itumbuzo
Itumbuzo, Abia State- In celebration of purpose and progress, the E.C.K. Ladies Bende Branch introduced the E.C.K. Foundation to Itumbuzo in the Bende Local Government Area. The town witnessed the official inauguration of the E.C.K. Foundation Women’s Branch. The E.C.K. Foundation is a non-governmental initiative dedicated to empowering women and uplifting communities.
The event, held yesterday, attracted a diverse crowd of local women and community members. The leader, Mrs. Oluomachi Chijioke, reinforced Chief Dr. Emeka Kalu’s commitment to grassroots development, gender equity, and women’s empowerment.
Mission and Vision
The ECK Foundation Women aims to:
- Promote economic empowerment through skills acquisition and vocational training
- Support education and mentorship for young girls and women
- Advocate for healthcare access, especially in maternal and reproductive health
- Foster leadership and civic engagement among women in rural communities
Chief Njoku Usim, representing Chief Dr. Emeka Charles Kalu, emphasized that the foundation’s mission extends beyond charity; it focuses on building capacity and creating sustainable impact. “We are here to plant seeds of hope,” he said, “and ensure that every woman in Itumbuzo and beyond has the tools to thrive.”
The inauguration featured touching testimonials from local women who shared their stories of resilience and aspiration. One speaker, Mrs. Onyemachi Ukpai, expressed optimism, stating, “For the first time, I feel seen. We believe this Foundation will provide us with assistance and restore our dignity.”
The ECK Foundation Ladies plans to expand its programs to other towns in Abia North, with upcoming workshops, scholarships, and microfinance opportunities already in development. The foundation invites volunteers, partners, and donors to join the movement and help scale its impact.
