CP Jimoh Reaffirms IGP Egbetokun’s Commitment to Merit-Based Policing, Decorates Newly Promoted Officers

In a ceremony marked by pride and professionalism, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has decorated a fresh batch of newly promoted senior officers within the Command, reaffirming the Nigeria Police Force’s dedication to merit-based advancement.

In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) by the Command’s Spokesperson, SP Adebisi Abimbola, the CP emphasized the leadership vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, in fostering transparency, professionalism, and reward for excellence within the Force.

According to SP Abimbola, “The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has decorated a new batch of newly promoted officers, reaffirming the steadfast commitment of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, to merit-based advancement within the Nigeria Police Force.”

The statement further acknowledged the Police Service Commission (PSC) for its “consistent adherence to a transparent and credible promotion process,” which facilitated the elevation of officers from Superintendent of Police (SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to Superintendent of Police (SP), as well as the confirmation of Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs).

The decoration ceremony, held at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, was attended by senior management officers, family members, and colleagues of the honourees. During the event, CP Jimoh conveyed the IGP’s goodwill message, noting that each promotion symbolizes “renewed trust, higher responsibility, and greater expectations.”

He charged the newly promoted officers to “demonstrate sound judgment, accountability, and a deepened commitment to public service,” while maintaining discipline and professionalism in all engagements.

Among the beneficiaries of the promotion exercise were:
CSP Agba Anna (DPO Ajao Estate Division), CSP Jacob Gana Jiya (DPO Ilemba-Hausa Division), CSP Hadiza Jidda (DPO Ogombo Division), CSP Amoda Fatai (DCO Ikeja Division), CSP Udomfiok Emmanuel (2ic Gender Unit), CSP Aroloye Bamikole (DPO Agbowa Division), and CSP Momoh Kamaldeen (DPO Apapa Division).

In their remarks, the newly promoted officers expressed profound gratitude to the IGP and the PSC for recognizing their dedication and professionalism. They pledged to “uphold the core values of the Nigeria Police Force, exhibit exemplary leadership, and apply their enhanced capacities more strategically in the service of Lagos State.”

Concluding the event, CP Jimoh reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to sustaining a Command anchored on discipline, professionalism, and purposeful policing. He charged the officers to justify their new ranks through consistent excellence, loyalty, and service-oriented leadership that ensures the continued peace and security of Lagos State.
