COVID-19: Abia Home Free Services Reveals Strategies On Distribution Of Relief Materials

As the quest of the State Government led by Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu intensens, the Administrator of the Free Home Services for the elderly in Abia has reiterated the preparedness of his members to ensure a judicious use of relief materials to ameliorate the pains of the masses.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Famous Reporters today, Chief Emenike Chuck Osondu revealed that the various items procured by the government of Dr. Ikpeazu would kick off in the shortest sketch of time, as he enjoined Abians to remain patient and not to loose faith in the present administration, saying “the distribution will commence very soon and our health care service providers are on ground already.

On whether the the exercise would have a political undertone, he explained that the service providers were indigenous professionals from their own local communities, adding “our staff include 10 nurses, 10 attendants, 1 doctor, 1 Physical Therapist, 1 occupational therapist, 1 social worker, 1 dietitian and 1 driver per local  government.

“We have great manpower to handle getting food to the geriatric patients in the comfort of their homes. Our staff are keepping good records of our job. Before now, we give the elderly that need food 1 good meal a day to help with their medication. We  are ready to roll very soon. We have the 17 local government chairmen ready and waiting for our workers”, he said.

“This great professional and of world health organization (WHO) standards and well oriented in the special education of management of the elderly (geriatric) patients”, he concluded.
