Rooted in the belief that a healthy mind thrives in a healthy body, community leaders and philanthropists are increasingly stepping in to bridge critical healthcare gaps at the grassroots.
One such leader is Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso (Ofuji), whose unwavering commitment to community well-being has found expression through the Chima Anyaso Foundation (CAF). Over the years, the Foundation has consistently organized free medical outreaches, delivering essential healthcare services directly to underserved and downtrodden populations across Abia State—saving lives and restoring hope.
Strengthening Community-Based Health Interventions
Community-based health interventions play a vital role in improving both mental and physical health at the population level, especially in rural areas. These interventions—often driven by government agencies and non-governmental organizations—range from medical screenings and vaccinations to health education and disease prevention initiatives.
Through CAF, Dr. Anyaso has demonstrated exceptional dedication to such interventions, particularly within Bende Local Government Area, where access to quality healthcare remains a challenge for many residents.
Proven Impact During Critical Moments
During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Anyaso, through the Chima Anyaso Foundation, distributed food items and medical supplies across Abia State, including Bende LGA. This timely intervention ensured that vulnerable families could survive the lockdown period with dignity and basic necessities. Far beyond charity, the gesture reflected genuine compassion and a deep concern for human welfare.
Healthcare Outreach to the Most Vulnerable
In collaboration with government agencies and partner organizations, CAF has reached numerous remote villages in Bende, delivering critical medical services to those most in need.
Notably, the Foundation partnered with Precious Sight Foundation to sponsor a free eye care programme in Igbere, benefiting communities across Bende LGA. Beneficiaries received eye tests and corrective glasses at no cost—an intervention that significantly improved quality of life for many.
Beyond eye care, the Foundation has executed several humanitarian and healthcare support initiatives, reinforcing its reputation as a lifeline for the poor and vulnerable.
A Vision for Greater Representation and Impact
There is growing momentum to have Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso represent the people of Bende Federal Constituency at the National Assembly. Supporters believe that his presence in Abuja would translate to stronger advocacy for healthcare policies that prioritize the elderly, women, and children.

Free and regular medical care for senior citizens aged 70 and above
Improved access to treatment for chronic illnesses in rural communities
