A former Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Abia state chapter, and an illustrious son of Ikwuano LGA of the state, Chief Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh has reiterated his dissociation from the party, describing it as “a party of one man show”.
Chief Henry Ikoh, the CEO of Ikoh Group of Company, Ahuwa Oboro, (Makers of Harmony Form) stated this yesterday, at his Ikwueke country home, in the council area, during his familiarisation meeting with the executive members of the party, in oboro ward 3.
FamousReporters recalls that Chief Ikoh had on June 9, 2020 tendered his resignation letter from the party to the national leadership.
The immediate past commissioner for Industry, Science and Technology amidst glaring delight pointed out that his aim was to confirm to the ward members of his new party of the authenticity the news of his defection to the APC.
“I’ve called you here to inform you that I have returned to our party. You all know that I have contested for governorship under APC in this state. I’ve met with the leadership of APC in Abuja and they have all agreed and this is my Ward. I’ve come to inform you that what you heard about my resignation from the PDP is true.
“Now that I’m back, we shall build an APC that will be a center of attraction beginning from this Ward 3 and I know many other persons will join us.”
Chief Ikoh boasted with an aura of confidence that PDP had gone into extinction in the state, as he bemoaned the marginalisation and relegation of his local government by the ruling party in the state over the years, as no development, according to him has been recorded in the area unlike her sister LGA’s.
“Everything about PDP is dead in Abia state; it’s a life of ‘the water and the fish’. ‘When one is not like others, his body itches’. Abia state is not like other states, Ikwuano is not like other LGA’s. There is nothing happening in Ikwuano and that was why I left.
“PDP is dead in Abia state. It’s a party of one man show, APC is going to carry everyone along. It will be a party for the masses. Abia state is currently shaking; they’ve cried and pleaded. I will not take PDP to court, I wouldn’t do that. Now that I’m back to APC, we will now build a vibrant party that would win elections from the Ward level. We’ll make sure Nigerians get to know where Oboro Ward 3 is located.
Furthermore, he described the party as a religious gathering, adding “you must be soul winners and must shun discrimination, rancor and every form of malice. Open doors of membership for every willing person despite their previous political affiliations. We have mansions, food and drinks that would accommodate all and sundry.
“We’ll ensure that everything about PDP dies beginning from Oboro Ward 3. Make sure that PDP is collapsed in abia state.
My house is open for 24/7 for everyone to come in with any vital information. I want you officers to make sure that PDP collapses at the various wards of the state because APC shall rule.
While presenting the party’s card to Ikoh, the Chairman, Oboro Ward 3, Cmrd. Nwabekee Chukwuemeka, in his ecstatic mood, commended the former for his notable display of strong love for Ikwuano LGA.
Cmrd. Nwabekee enjoined members to acknowledge with Chief Ikoh as their member while calling on them to work assiduously and collaboratively with the latter to drive the party greater heights.
Corroborating, Ogbonna Chidi Mbakwe, the LG secretary expressed immense joy over the decision of the political big wig to identify with them, having discarded the prying eyes of his former members.
He used the medium to appeal to Ikoh to facilitate the arrival of other prominent leaders into the party in order to enhance the influx of dividends of democracy.
“We’re all Happy and we expect personality into the party with your emergence to the party.
I really thank God particularly for your decision, because this will enable us benefit from the dividends of democracy. Sir, you’re indeed a big plus to us”, he said.
In addition, Mr. Ugochukwu Egeonu, a stakeholder of the party regretted that Anians had suffered servitude in the hands of PDP in the state over the years.
Hear him: “This is our time get to the end; our time to demystify PDP and their crew is here. If your church won’t change you, you change your church, the major thing is to get to heaven. Onyeze has decided to change his church and has come to comgregate with us so that we can converse and figure a way out.
“Enough of subjugation! No man is too good to be the other’s master. We cannot be serving masters that will continue to subjugate us”, he lamented.
Meanwhile, it was a moment of smiles of joy and happiness, as the faces of the party executives who chanted songs of praise and envisaged victory glowed with laughter and great expectations.
