Buhari Approves N13b For Implementation of Community Policing

In a bid to rejig the present security structure in the country and deliver a more effective policing, the Government of President Mohammadu Buhari of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has approved a total sum of N13b for for the take-off of Community Policing in the country.


In view of that, the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo
at the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting, which he presided over yesterday, directed all Governors, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Finance Minister and the Inspectator-General of Police (IGP) to work out modalities on how the funds would be well utilized to ensure an effective implementation of Community Policing in Nigeria, adding, “and then report back to NEC.”

A release signed by Laolu Akande, SSA to the President on Media & Publicity, Office of the Vice President, and made available to Famous Reporters assured that the government of Nigeria would not relent in her efforts to provide adequate security to lives and property across the country.

The release read in part:

“Specifically, the Governors would be represented at the consultations by the Nigeria Governors’ forum Chairman and two others. There’s no relenting in effort to secure lives and property across Nigeria”
