It was like a drama yesterday when an uproar was heard from the compound of one Mr. Ndudim Nwabuko, in Ndagbo Community, in Afaraukwu Ibeku, Umuahia North LGA of Abia State, as an 1year-old baby got missing after a strange woman called in at the house at about 7pm.
Famous Reporters who visited the area was reliably informed that Mrs. Ihuoma Victoria Nwabuko, the mother of the baby could not help her tears this morning as she identified her poor, innocent baby lying breathlessly on the floor, at Living Word gate, along Aba road, Umuahia by an unknown lady.
The women of Ndagbo, the home town of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, were seen matching to FMC, with branches of leafs in their hands, chanting dirge.
A member of the community simply identified as John told Famous Reporters that the strange who allegedly made away with the baby was Mr. Nwabuko’s lover, the father of the baby.
Our source further disclosed that the lady whose name could not be ascertained committed the crume in reprisal to the man’s insistence on series of abortions in the course of their love escapades, which has reportedly resulted in her damaged reproductory organs.
The source said: “we learnt that the man compelled the girlfriend to terminate three pregnancies which resulted in her damaged reproductory organs. And the lady had earlier threatened to deal with the man and here it is”, he explained.
However, Lady Victoria Ngozi Orji, the chairlady Community Development Union told Famous Reporters earlier that
“My sister left the baby in the care of her 12years old sister, a lady went to her and told her that her mother who was at the shop asked her to bring the baby whereas her mother was at the shop washing clothes and the girl not knowing that it was not true gave her the baby”.
She further said that the unconscious baby was already immediately rushed to federal Medical Center, FMC where she eventually gave up the ghost.
According to the chairlady, the night was turned into a mere day light for the bereaved women as they gathered at the village square praying to God for the arrival of their baby unbeknownst to them that the poor baby had been slain.
Meanwhile, the incident has been reported to the police, although the DPO could not be reached as at the time of filing this report.
