BREAKING NEWS: Electoral Chairman, Mamman Mohammed is dead
The Chairman of the Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC), Dr. Mamman Mohammed, is dead.
Mohammed reportedly passed away on Monday, October 13, after a brief illness at the Yobe State Teaching Hospital, Damaturu, the state capital.
His death was confirmed by the Fika Emirate Council through a statement shared on its official Facebook page.
According to the Emirate, the deceased—who also held the traditional title of Shamakin Fika—breathed his last at the teaching hospital after a short illness.

The death has occurred of Dr. Mamman Mohammed (Shamakin Fika), Chairman of the Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC).
He died at the Yobe State Teaching Hospital after an illness.

the Emirate wrote.
According to Politics Nigeria, funeral prayers for the late SIEC chairman are scheduled to be held on Tuesday, October 14, at the Emir of Fika’s Palace in Potiskum town, after which he will be buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
A seasoned civil servant and medical doctor by profession, Dr. Mohammed was described by relatives and colleagues as a selfless, dedicated, and principled leader.
He was widely respected for his commitment to good governance, his efforts in strengthening democratic values in Yobe State, and his role in mentoring young people in leadership and civic participation.
Until his passing, he was regarded as an epitome of professionalism, fairness, and integrity in the discharge of his duties as SIEC chairman.
