In a bid to prevent the eruption of dreaded Coronavirus Disease in the state, EBONYI state government, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health has made a call restricting the migration of Chinese into the state as the fear of Coronavirus Disease intensifies.
Engr. David Umahi who was represented by his deputy Barrister Eric Kelechi Igwe made this call during the sinstazation training and public enlightment program to ward off Coronavirus in Ebonyi.
The state deputy Governor explained that the Ebonyi state government did not intend to discriminate the Chinese “but to keep them away for proper treatment and examination”, he said.
He noted that the state Governor was working assiduously towards establishing a machine that would facilitate the conduct of unhesitant test.
Speaking at the event, the commissioner for Health Dr Umezurike described Coronavirus as a deadly and communicable disease that could be transmitted from one person to another, adding that the state governent has shown their readiness to eradicate Corona virus completely in the state.
Dr Umuzoruike further revealed that the state Governor had started erecting structures at unit square where suspected Coronavirus patience would be quarantined adding, “the Governor has also directed all the state excos to clock into the office of the Secretary to the state governent before leaving the state and endeavour to notify the state why returning for proper examination”.
Meanwhile, traditional rulers and local government chairmen numbering 13 were charged to educate their people in the various rular communities in the need to fight against Coronavirus.
