BREAKING: APC removes Uzodinma, names replacement following crisis
*As Tinubu Makes Major Appointment
The All Progressive Congress (APC) has removed Uzodinma as Edo Primary Election Committee Chairman.
The All Progressive Congress (APC) has removed Senator Hope Uzodinma, the Governor of Imo state, as the chairman of Edo state Governorship Primary election committee.
This development is coming in the aftermath of a crisis currently rocking the party in the state after several individuals emerged as Candidates in the just-concluded primaries superintended over by Uzodinma.
In an amended list released by the party’s National Organizing Secretary, H.E Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, OFR, the committee will now be chaired by the Governor of Cross Rivers state Bassey Otu, while Alh. Rabiu Suleiman will serve as Secretary.
The Party also announced the appointment of Barr. C. C. Udenwa as the chairman Appeals committee.
TINUBU MAKES MAJOR APPOINTMENT
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sanctioned the appointment of DCG Kemi Nanna Nandap to assume the role of Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS). Her designation becomes operational from March 1, 2024.
The announcement was conveyed in a statement issued by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, on Wednesday. DCG Nandap succeeds Mrs. Caroline Wura-Ola Adepoju, whose tenure concludes on February 29, 2024.
Before assuming the position of Comptroller-General, Nandap served as the Deputy Comptroller-General overseeing the Migration Directorate of the Service. “The President anticipates that the new Comptroller-General will deepen the ongoing reforms in the service and create a robust mechanism for efficient and dedicated service delivery to Nigerians, as well as strengthen the nation’s security through proactive and effective border security and migration management,” the statement highlighted.
