BIAFRA: Igweka-Ala Ancient Temple Holds Special Service For Nnamdi Kanu’s Late Parents

In line with the Jewish religion, the Jewish Sect in Igweka-Ala Synagogue, yesterday organised a special prayer service in the honour of late HRM Eze Israel O. Kanu, Omeudo 1 and Egwu-Ukwu of Afaraukwu Ibeku and Ugoeze Sally, the parents of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB), whose interment has been slated for February 14.

The ceremony which took place at Igweka-Ala Ancient Temple, in Arochukwu LGA of Abia State, yesterday, featured a grand reception of the IPOB leader who was represented by his younger brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu had in attendance some dignitaries of the Jewish community who offered prayers for the deceased and the bereaved family.

Addressing newsmen, the Priest, Amb. Okoronkwo Nnamdi Okoro (Zodiac), and the representative of Igweka-Ala Synagogue explained that the service was aimed at welcoming the father of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to the land of Arochukwu

“We’re happy to welcome the father of our great leader, Nnamdi Kanu (Ohamadike) into our land and today we have to give them our last prayer Igweka-Ala Synagogue. This is so that will go in peace because they have done their work. They’re saints and they’re there now to represent us and to see that this Biafra that has attained this stage comes to be.

The priest who represented the Eze of Arochukwu, HRM Eze Vincent Okorie advised the IPOB leader to courageous and not to relent in the struggle, adding “as far as he has come to Igweka-Ala and we have gathered to pray for his parents, it means that Biafra must be actualised”, he said.

Speaking earlier, Prince Kanu O Kanu assured that the visit of Kanu to Aro land would facilitate a peaceful atmosphere as they lay to rest the remains of the late king and his Queen on February 14.

He advised all agitators of Biafra to embrace peace at all times, reiterating that “Biafra is my origin. I am one of them and I keep praying for things to work out as we I desire because wherever I am and in whatever I do, I always praying for Biafra to become a reality”.

In addition, Mazi Ndukwe Emmanuel, chairman of Igweka-Ala promised their unalloyed support for Kanu in his quest to bring to being the Biafra nation.

He advised every Biafra faithful to remain determined and resolute and not to give up on the fight, insisting “no retreat no surrender until Biafra comes.

Responding, Prince Emmanuel Kanu thanked the people for the warm reception, as he urged them to remain calm, while assuring them of a tranquil atmosphere during the interment of his late parents.

Meanwhile, highlights of the event were the visit of Kanu to the palace of Eze Aro, HRM Eze Vincent Okorie and a prolonged hearty prayers for the late king and his wife.
