ARISE TV JOURNALIST: Residents debunk assassination claims, say robbers begged her not to jump

Following the shocking death news of the famous Arise TV Presenter, Ms. Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu who died tragically during a robbery attack in her residence, in the early hours of Monday, September 29, facts have emerged, stating that Sommie was not assassinated but jumped from a three storey apartment.

Shock and agony have continued to trail the saddening incident which occurred at her Katampe residence, in Abuja, around 3:00am on that fateful morning.

Reportedly, the heavily armed robbers subdued the security guards and raided several apartments, carting away vehicles, laptops, and other valuables.

In a video shared by Trust TV, according to accounts from a resident identified as Tijani, the attackers were heavily armed with ammunition more sophisticated than what the local Civilian Joint Task Force could withstand. After overpowering the guards, the robbers gained access to the compound and went from flat to flat, compelling residents to surrender their belongings. Those who cooperated were reportedly left unharmed.

According to reports,, the deceased journalist had just recently moved into the apartment.

Facts revealed that Somtochukwu was a victim of panic upon catching sight of the robbers as they her apartment.
Unable to handle the shock of the invasion, she rushed to her balcony and jumped from the third floor. The fall tragically claimed her life.

In a surprising detail, Tijani explained that the robbers even attempted to dissuade her from jumping, urging her to remain calm. However, fear had already taken over.

Hear Tijani’s confessions: “She was trying to escape the invaders in panic; the estate security guard was also shot.”

In the video which was sighted by Famous Reporters, Tijani further said that “the
attackers were heavily armed with ammunition more sophisticated than what the local Civilian Joint Task Force could withstand. After overpowering the guards, the robbers gained access to the compound and went from flat to flat, compelling residents to surrender their belongings. Those who cooperated were reportedly left unharmed. They gained access to the place and they robbed every flat, from the ground floor to the last floor. So, on getting to her own flat, she was… maybe some people cannot handle pressure; some of the occupants, immediately they badged into their apartment, they surrendered what they had, they even left unhurt-they didn’t do anything to them. Unfortunately, she couldn’t handle that shock so she ran to her balcony and jumped from the top floor. From what I gathered from the security guard, there was a vehicle packed here, we called the police.”

The police were said to have arrived at the estate only two to three minutes after the robbers had left. By then, the young journalist’s life had been cut short.

Continuing, he said, “police actually came 2/3 minutes after those people left.They were even begging the lady not to jump, I mean the armed robbers.”

Meanwhile, Famousreporters.com gathered that her cousin who was listed as a guarantor was later contacted and informed of the tragic incident.
