Approved road projects in Abia: Complete Abam – Arochukwu Road, Nkole Begs Ikpeazu … We can’t transport our Agricultural produce — Ikwuano

There has been mixed feelings in Abia state following the recent exclusion of some local government areas in the extant approval of road projects across the state which has as a result, raised dusts among some sections of Abians.
Consequently, a chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abam, Arochukwu Local Government Area, Isaac Nkole, has implored the Governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu to complete the Abam-Arochuk­wu Road saying it is of eco­nomic importance to the state in general.
Hon. Nkole made this hearty appeal behalf of Onyerubi people, in Arochukwu LGA, during an interaction with FamousReporters explained that the road, which according had a great eco­nomic importance to the entire state had been in a deplorable state over the years.
He bemoaned the poor state of the road, regretting that “the road jas totally collapsed, and this is the only road that leads into other areas and it has long been had been cut into two making it impossible for transporters to access Aro­chukwu and Ohafia as the road.”
The roads are; Ozu-Abam, Ndi okorie’,Ndi-oji-Abam,Ndi-okereke Abam,okobo and Amuvi Arochukwu Ring Road,
Okobo road.Similarly, the troubled by the review and approval of 19 road projects by the Executive council are the people of Ikwuano LGA.
Our Correspondent who spoke with some stakeholders of the area who spoke in anonymity, gathered that the government of Abia state had over the years not blinked an eye at their incessant appeals to rehabilitate some major roads in the area.
Among the major roads which have remained in critical conditions are; Nkalunta road, in Ibere, Azuiyi Oloko road, Ahaba and Umugo Oloko road, Ariam-Usaka ring road, a many others.
They, therefore, pleaded with the government of Ikpeazu to extend the road rehabilitation to the area, saying it will facilitate the transportation of their farm products.
It would be recalled that the good people of Ikwuano who are basically renowned farmers are known for their massive production of agricultural produce some of which are cash crops.
