Anyaso Marks Year-End with Courtesy Visit, Gifts Car to Sports Icon “Mr Football” Ikwunze

“Dr. Chima Anyaso ends 2025 with a goodwill visit to sports icon Ejikeme Ikwunze (Mr Football), gifting him a car in appreciation of his legacy”.

Founder of the Chima Anyaso Foundation (CAF), Dr. Chima Desmond Anyaso, has described his end-of-year engagement with veteran sports personality Mr. Ejikeme Ikwunze, popularly known as “Mr Football,” as one of the most meaningful moments of 2025.

Speaking on the visit, Dr. Anyaso said he spent the final day of the year with Mr. Ikwunze, whom he described as a “dear big friend” and a respected figure in the Nigerian football community.

“I spent the very last day of the year in the most meaningful way with the special visit of my dear big friend, Mr. Ejikeme Ikwunze, popularly known and respected by all as ‘Mr Football,’” he said.

According to him, the visit afforded both men the opportunity to reconnect and reflect on key issues bordering on leadership, life and sports.
“We shared quality time together, catching up on life, leadership, and of course football—a subject he has lived and breathed for decades,” Dr. Anyaso stated.

He further disclosed that the meeting was marked by moments of warmth and fellowship, as they shared a meal, laughed and exchanged reflections.

“We ate, laughed, reflected, and he graciously gifted me and my children the last copies of three of his books, a priceless gesture I truly cherish,” he added.

In recognition of Mr. Ikwunze’s enduring friendship, wisdom and lifetime contributions to sports development, Dr. Anyaso said he reciprocated with a significant gesture.

“In appreciation of his friendship, wisdom, and lifelong contributions, I also gifted him a car to assist with his mobility before he left,” he said.
Dr. Anyaso described the encounter as symbolic, noting that it represented the values of honour, gratitude and generosity.

“I am grateful for moments like this—moments of friendship, honour, and giving. It was a beautiful way to close the year,” he noted.
He also extended goodwill messages for the New Year, offering prayers for divine blessings and greater achievements in 2026.

“HAPPY NEW YEAR 2026, and may God bless us all beyond our expectations this year, in Jesus’ name. Amen,” Dr. Anyaso said.

The visit further reflects the humanitarian ideals of the Chima Anyaso Foundation (CAF), which continues to promote service, mentorship and appreciation of excellence across various sectors of society.
