Ahmed Joda, man who headed Buhari’s 2015 transition, is dead *What you need to know about Ahmed

Ahmed Joda is a northern elder statesman who also served on President Muhammadu Buhari’s 2015 Transition Committee, has died.

This was confirmed by an information as released by the family members some friends today, Friday.

Joda’s death was confirmed by a statement from some friends and family members on Friday.

Joda, the elder statesman was a retired Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Industries.

He rose through the ranks of the military government of Gen Yakubu Gowon (retd.) in the 1970s to become one of the super Permanent Secretaries.

He served on the boards of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, the Nigerian Communications Commission, Pastoral Resolve, Chagoury Group, and the Flour Mills of Nigeria, among others.

Ahmed Joda was also a member of the 1988 Constituent Assembly, which planned the Third Nigerian Republic’s constitutional transition.

In 1999, he was appointed to Olusegun Obasanjo’s Poverty Alleviation Advisory Committee, and in 2015, he led the Muhammadu Buhari presidential transition.
