“Abia 2027: APC Rallies Ohafia–Arochukwu Equity, Backs Benjamin Kalu, Orji Uzor Kalu for Power Shift
“The APC in Abia State says it is gaining momentum ahead of 2027, citing unity under Benjamin Kalu and Orji Uzor Kalu, and a strong Ohafia–Arochukwu equity alliance as key to its strategy.”
“A powerful political wave is building in Abia State as the All Progressives Congress (APC) signals a bold and strategic push toward 2027. With renewed unity, grassroots energy, and a strong equity-driven alliance in Ohafia and Arochukwu, party leaders say the path to reclaiming power is no longer a dream—but an unfolding reality.”
The Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has intensified its political strategy ahead of the 2027 general elections, declaring that the party is gaining significant ground across the state.
This position was reinforced during a press conference held in Umuahia, where a chieftain of the party, Hon. Chief Chidiebere Uwagwu Kalu, commended the leadership of Benjamin Kalu and Orji Uzor Kalu for what he described as a transformative and unifying congress.
According to him, the recently concluded APC Congress was “a historic, rancour-free exercise” that showcased the party’s growing cohesion and organizational strength across all 17 local government areas of the state.
“The APC Congress leadership under Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu and Senator Orji Uzor Kalu is not just an administrative success; it is a movement of hope that has united party faithful across Abia,” he stated.
Ohafia/Arochukwu Political Reawakening
Hon. Uwagwu Kalu highlighted what he described as a significant political revival within the Ohafia/Arochukwu Federal Constituency, noting that the current leadership has strengthened grassroots mobilization and stakeholder engagement across both local government areas.
“This leadership has brought unity where there was division, growth where there was apathy, and vision where there was doubt,” he said.
He further emphasized that empowerment initiatives and sustained political engagement have deepened the APC’s presence at the ward level, positioning the party as a formidable force ahead of the next electoral cycle.
Equity and Political Understanding
The APC chieftain also underscored a longstanding political understanding between Ohafia and Arochukwu, rooted in equity and rotational cooperation.
“It is a classic and bold relationship built on mutual respect. We must preserve this understanding for future political stability,” he noted, calling for sustained collaboration among stakeholders in both areas.
2027: APC Sets Sights on Power
Projecting confidence in the party’s future, Hon. Uwagwu Kalu declared that the APC is fully prepared to take over power in Abia State in 2027.
“Our stance is clear and uncompromising — APC will take over Abia in 2027. We are not here to play politics; we are here to rescue our state,” he said.
He aligned the party’s direction with the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, highlighting priorities such as infrastructure development, youth empowerment, women inclusion, and good governance.
Call for Grassroots Mobilization
Calling for increased political participation, he urged party members and supporters across Ohafia and Arochukwu to take ownership of the process.
“No one is too small or too busy. Every individual must register, mobilize, and promote the vision of the APC within their communities,” he said.
He also stressed the importance of unity, urging members to “reject division and embrace collective strength” as the party prepares for the 2027 elections.
Hon. Uwagwu Kalu acknowledged the contributions of key stakeholders, including “High Chief Uche Ogboso” and “Chief Ikenna Ukwa,” for their roles in sustaining the party’s structure, particularly in Ohafia.
Reaffirming confidence in the APC’s trajectory, he concluded:
“The APC Congress under Benjamin Kalu and Orji Uzor Kalu has opened a new chapter. With unity, determination, and grassroots involvement, victory is certain.”
