Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL) has reviled all those who protested against Senator T A Orji and the Speaker of Abia House of Assembly Engr. Chinedum Orji,
saying they are non- Abians hired to distort the state’s peaceful atmosphere.

In a press statement signed by her President- General, Chief Goodluck Ibem and Secretary- General, Comrade Kanice Igwe
and made available to newsmen, in Umuahia, Thursday, the group who expressed displeasure towards the activities of the protesters.

He insisted that “after thorough investigation of those that protested in Abuja against Senator Theodore Ahamefula Orji and Engr. Chinedum Orji, Abia Speaker, to our dismay we discovered that those miscreants are not indigenes of Abia state”.

“They were hired within Abuja and its environs to smear the hard earn reputation of our revered Senator and Speaker”, the group said.

The release reads:

“Abians know themselves , those persons that protested in Abuja against Senator T. A. Orji and his family are not from Abia state. When some Igbo resporters spoke Igbo language to some of them leading the protest, they could not respond back with Igbo language. This will tell any reasonable mind the level of deceit being perpetrated by the sponsors of that protest”.

Speaking further, the release, it said:
“We know that those behind this ill-fated protest are disgruntled elements that lost out in the last 2019 general elections. These lossers in order to save face decided to launch their anger and vituperation against senator T. A. Orji and his family blaming them for their woes in the last general elections”.

In addition, it stated: “Politicians should learn how to accept defeat when they are defeated in elections. It is totally wrong to cast aspersions on a person’s hard reputation simply because you lost woefully in an election”.

“Abians love senator T. A. Orji and his family. They are not complaining to anyone that their money is missing, this protest is the handiwork of those who want to drag the state backwards, it is those that want to cause security breach in the Abia State”

“Though we do not support corruption, but for anyone to start protesting over a matter that is still under investigation by the EFCC is to pre-empt the outcome of that investigation which is totally unlawful and unconstitutional.

“we call on our youths not to allow themselves to be used by some greedy politicians to cause disaffection for their own selfish end. Those politicians do not mean well for them but rather they want to use them to achieve their own selfish goal and objectives”

“We therefore call on Abians, Nigerians and the EFCC to disregard that protests that was stage-managed by faceless miscreants whose sole aim is to cause disaffection and security breach in Abia state”.

“If those protesters motive was right, and if what they were saying was the truth, they would have conducted that protest in Abia State but rather they choose to go to Abuja because their aim and mission is not right. How can you say that something happened in Abia state and you will not protest in Abia, you will go to Abuja to complain or protest over an issue you claimed happened in Abia state , that is to tell you that their aim and mission was a total deceit” they said”.

“COSEYL stated that “Under the judiciary system, when you bring a matter that happens in a different place to another area, the court will simply tell you that they lacked jurisdiction to entertain such matter. In this case, Abuja lacks jurisdiction to entertain the protest, therefore the said protest is ‘non and void”

“The protesters said they are protesting for Senator T. A. Orji and the speaker of Abia House of Assembly to resign their positions base on a petition written against them by one faceless group ‘ Save Nigeria Group’ to the EFCC”.

“Our law did not say that one should resign his or her position simply because someone accuses him or her of any wrong doing. Allegations are not factual . Only the court can ajudge one to be guilty”
