Eid-el- Fitri calls for sacrifice in spirit, mind, Orlu Council Boss tells Muslim Community

Chairman, Interim Management Committee, IMC,Orlu LGA, Hon. Chief Mrs. Nneoma Ifeoma Ndukwu( Ugosinachi) has

urged the Muslim Community to take the period Eid -El – Fitri as a time of solemn reflection in furtherance of unity, positive orientation, self value, self reliance,  development and economic impact to the council area and to themselves most especially.

In a release signed by Don C. Uba, KSP SA, Media & Communications to the Chairman, Interim Management Committee, Orlu LGA and made available to Famous Reporters,
Nneoma Ndukwu charged them to see every other ethnic groups in the Orlu LGA as the same and eschew any form of rancour and acrimony among their hosts.

The ebullient Chairman who felicitated with the Muslim brethren in the area and beyond on the occasion of their Eid -El – Fitri celebration, reminded the Muslims that this season calls for sacrifice and prayers and should not be taken as a time of war and undue bickering which according to her, would put a crack in the already existing peaceful coexistence among them and others.

Furthermore, Ndukwu, who is also a Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Odidika Uzodinma (Onwa Oyoko), pointed out that “Eid-el- Fitri calls for sacrifice in spirit and in mind which will enable them to know the true meaning of obedience, selfless sacrifice and love for one another as exhibited by Prophet Ibrahim who willingly offered his only son, Ishmael for sacrifice to God whose birth is being celebrated

Even while she told them to mark the event with happiness, she charged them to carry out all the precautionary measures  toward fight against the Coronavirus pandemic by washing their hands under running water for 20 seconds before entering the Mosques, using face marks, and making sure that they maintain physical distancing among others, stating, observing such measures was in the their own interest and that of the society in general, just as she reminded them that “Obedience is better than sacrifice”.

The Chairman, who extended the Covid -19 palliatives following the lockdown occasioned by the pandemic to the Muslim Community charged them to further use the day to reflect on their individual lives and above all endeavour to obey constituted authorities without which this occasion will be a formality.
