Members of Forum of Former Elected Councillors Abia State (FECAS) have applauded the member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal constituency, Rt. Hon. Uko Nkole for the various proactive measures deployed towards ameliorating the famine instigated by the lockdown order.
The Hon. Nkole received the accolades, yesterday, when
a delegation led by the chairman of the forum, Hon. Prince Kalu Eke paid the latter a solidarity visit at his country home, Ozu Abam in Arochukwu LGA of Abia state, describing him as “God- sent to the Constituency and beyond.
In his remarks, Hon. Eke pointed out that their visit to Hon. Nkole’s was a show solidarity for the latter’s complementary efforts to the present activities of Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, henceforth the endless distribution of palliative8 materials and personal protective equipment (PPE) to the people of his constituency and beyond.
He stressed that Nkole’s remarkable charity work had gone a long way in cushioning the drastic effects of the lockdown brought about by the novel Coronavirus (COVID -19) pandemic and to contain its spread.
Meanwhile, the group used the medium to reassure the industrious son of Arochukwu of their readiness to play a vital ruin the funeral ceremony of his late father, Late Chief Emmanuel Nkole.
“Hon. sir, please, any time a new date for the burial of our Hero is announced, do not hesitate to inform us, as we will participate fully in order to give your late father a befitting burial as it is well deserved to a departed hero.”
It would be recalled that the forum had earlier on the January 13, paid a condolence to the Federal Lawmaker over the death of his father, late Chief Emmanuel Ndukwe Nkole who died at the ripe age of 79 after retiring from a meritorious service with the Central Bank of Nigeria where he rose to the rank of a Senior Management Staff.
In just response, Rt. Hon. Nkole thanked the forum their visit despite of the glaring effects of the lockdown, saying “you left the comforts of your homes to show solidarity to me in my home town.”
On the amazing gifts, he said: “philanthropism is a thing of the mind and the passion and willingness to give and not necessarily having it in abundance all it is only God who rewards.”
Furthermore, Hon. Nkole promised that he would stop at nothing in ensuring that his Constituency enjoyed effective and qualitative representation, while advise them to be good ambassadors of their various local governments.
The meeting had in attendance; Hon. Ironma Godswill, Hon. Engr. Chinyere Cletus Ejike, Hon. Akabueze Ndukwe Joseph, Hon. Vivian Ogonnaya, Hon. Daniel Abah and other delegates.
