The new Commissioner of Police in Abia State, who has just assumed office has sent a stern warning to criminals in the state to disappear into the thin air, threatening that his administration has deduced strategies to enable them fight the latter to a finish.
CP Jane Agbede who took over from CP Ene Okon E who has just been redeployed to the force headquarters Abuja, gave this charge while addressing Journalists at police headquarters, Friday, shortly after she took over the leadership of the state command, warning that the Command would not be able to put up with activities of hoodlums in the state.
Agbede who it was gathered was the Commissioner of Police in charge of Welfare, force headquarters, Abuja before her new posting to head the Abia state command maintain that her priority in the state was strictly to protect of lives and property of citizenry.
“I have the mandate of Inspector General of Police to ensure that Abia people who are industrious in nature would have a secured environment to do business”.
It would be recalled that the Inspector-General of Police, (IGP), Mohammed Adamu had on Tuesday ordered the immediate redeployment of the Commissioner of Police (CP), Abia State Command, Okon Ene, to the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Reportedly, CP Ene’s redeployment was inarguably in connection with the misuse of firearms by a policeman at Ebem Ohafia area of Abia State on Friday, 17th April, 2020 which led to the unfortunate death of one Mr. Ifeanyi Arunsi and a lot more other gruesome killings of innocent Abians since the commencement of the lockdown order.
