11-Year-Old Gives Birth to Stepfather’s Child, Mother Gets Seven Life Terms

An 11-year-old girl endured sexual abuse, became pregnant by her stepfather and gave birth at home without medical assistance. Now, her mother will spend the rest of her life behind bars after a court found her guilty of failing to protect her daughter.

An Oklahoma woman has been sentenced to seven consecutive life terms in prison after a court found her guilty of failing to protect her 11-year-old daughter from sexual abuse by her husband, who fathered a child with the minor.

Cherie Walker, 34, received the sentences on Friday, October 30, 2026, from a Muskogee County judge in the United States, following her conviction on seven felony counts relating to child sexual abuse and neglect.

The case came to light in August 2025 after authorities discovered that Walker’s 11-year-old daughter had given birth inside the family home without prenatal care or medical assistance.

According to reports by PEOPLE and local media outlets, the child delivered the baby on August 16, 2025, after becoming pregnant by her stepfather, Dustin Walker.

Authorities subsequently charged Cherie Walker with one count of child sexual abuse and six counts of child neglect, alleging that she knew her husband was sexually abusing her daughter but failed to intervene or protect the child.

At the time the incident was reported, both Walker and her husband reportedly claimed they were unaware that the young girl was pregnant when she went into labour.

However, DNA testing later established that Dustin Walker, the child’s stepfather, was the biological father of the baby.

Speaking to KOTV following the discovery, Muskogee County Assistant District Attorney Janet Hutson described the child’s experience as deeply traumatic.

“This child is traumatized,” Hutson said, expressing concern over the circumstances surrounding the pregnancy and the birth.

She further noted that the child had endured an ordeal that would have lasting consequences for the rest of her life.

Walker was subsequently convicted on all seven felony counts on July 17, 2026, according to public court records from Muskogee County reviewed by PEOPLE.

Her husband, Dustin Walker, had earlier pleaded guilty in March to felony charges relating to child sexual abuse and neglect. He was subsequently sentenced to life imprisonment.

The child’s grandmother, Michelle Justus, was also charged in connection with the case after prosecutors alleged that she knew about the sexual abuse taking place within the household but failed to take steps to stop it.

The case has drawn attention to the devastating consequences of child sexual abuse and the responsibility of adults, particularly parents and guardians, to protect vulnerable children from exploitation.

Meanwhile, the Muskogee County District Attorney’s Office had not immediately responded to PEOPLE’s request for comment on the latest development.
