Union Bank Wins Gender Inclusion Award as Brand Chief Makes Top 50 Women List at WIMCA 2026

A major win for women in business and communications has put Union Bank in the spotlight. The bank has been honoured for its gender inclusion efforts, while its Brand and Marketing Chief, Mrs. Olufunmilola Aluko, has also earned a place among Nigeria and Africa’s influential women in the industry.

Union Bank of Nigeria won the Most Outstanding Bank in Gender Inclusion award at WIMCA 2026, while its Chief Brand and Marketing Officer, Mrs. Olufunmilola Aluko, was named among the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Marketing and Communications. The recognition highlights the bank’s efforts to promote gender diversity, women’s empowerment, and inclusive growth.

Union Bank said it would continue to support platforms and initiatives that promote women’s empowerment and meaningful participation in the marketing and communications industry.

The bank also reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive growth and to creating more opportunities for women across its workplace, customer base, and wider society.

LAGOS, Nigeria: Union Bank of Nigeria has received fresh recognition for its commitment to gender inclusion after it was named Most Outstanding Bank in Gender Inclusion at the Women in Marketing and Communications Conference and Awards (WIMCA) 2026.

The prestigious award was presented on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Landmark Event Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The recognition highlights Union Bank’s continued efforts to promote gender diversity and create opportunities for women across its workplace, customer base, and wider business ecosystem.

Through its initiatives, the bank supports women, female entrepreneurs, and professionals with tailored financial products, capacity-building programmes, mentorship, networking opportunities, and other forms of support designed to promote economic participation.

Union Bank, Brand Chief Honoured

The recognition came as leading female professionals in marketing and communications gathered for WIMCA 2026, which was held under the theme, “Grow, Give, Glow: Building Resilience for Distinction.”

The conference brought together prominent professionals from across Africa to discuss industry trends, leadership, resilience, and the advancement of women in the brand, marketing, and communications space.

Adding to Union Bank’s achievement, its Chief Brand and Marketing Officer, Mrs. Olufunmilola Aluko, was named among the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Marketing and Communications.

Aluko joined other prominent brand and communications executives who were recognised at the event.
