Nwaka Urges Ikwuano Women to Support Otti’s reelection, Husbands, Children’s Future

A call for stronger families and political support took centre stage as Abia State Ministry of Finance Incorporated Director-General, Hon. Osinachi Nwaka, urged Ikwuano women to stand firmly behind their husbands, train their children and support Governor Alex Otti’s administration ahead of 2027.

Hon. Osinachi Nwaka has urged Ikwuano women to support their husbands, train their children and back the administration of Abia State Governor Alex Otti. Nwaka said women should support a government that delivers roads, health centres, scholarships and other tangible projects to the people.

IKWUANO- Director-General of the Abia State Ministry of Finance Incorporated and former Mayor of Ikwuano Local Government Area, Hon. Osinachi Nwaka, has urged women in Ikwuano to support their husbands, train their children and give their unalloyed support to the administration of Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR.

Nwaka made the call while addressing women at the 2026 Ikwuano August meeting, where he stressed the important role women play in building strong families and communities.

He said every effort aimed at empowering women and improving their welfare was worthwhile, urging the women to continue supporting their husbands, especially during challenging periods.

According to him, women also have a major role in preparing their children for the future.

Nwaka said, “Train your children so that your future can be good and better.”

He further described the current period as one that requires unity, support and careful decisions.

He said, “These are trying moments; these are critical moments. Make sure you support your husbands and train your children so that your future can be safe and better.”

Nwaka urges women to support Otti’s government

The former Ikwuano mayor also called on the women to support what he described as a development-oriented government.

He urged them to support the administration of Governor Alex Otti, particularly where they believe its policies and projects are improving the lives of residents.

Nwaka said government should be judged by what it delivers to the people, rather than by promises alone.

He said, “Support a government that says, ‘I will build roads,’ and they build roads. Support a government that says, ‘I will build health centres,’ and they build health centres. A government that says your children are entitled to scholarships and they get the scholarships.”

According to him, the people should support a government that demonstrates commitment through visible projects and programmes.

He urged the women to pay attention to the delivery of roads, healthcare facilities, education and other social interventions when deciding which leaders deserve their support.

Nwaka also encouraged the women to sustain their support for Governor Otti’s administration ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He said the people should support and vote for a government which, in their assessment, has demonstrated sincerity and delivered tangible development.

His appeal placed particular emphasis on the role of women in shaping the future of their families and communities, while also highlighting their influence in political participation.

Nwaka concluded his remarks by inviting the women and other participants at the gathering to join him in singing a song he said he usually performs at public events.

The gathering provided an opportunity for the women of Ikwuano to celebrate their heritage, discuss issues affecting their families and communities, and reaffirm their commitment to the development of the council area.
