Neya Uzor Kalu distributes books, educational materials to Abia North schools

The Publisher of Sun Newspaper, Neya Uzor Kalu has began distribution of textbooks, notebooks and other writing materials to pubils in schools across Abia North senatorial district.

Speaking through Special Adviser to the Chief Whip of the Senate Rev Mrs Ifeoma Agu who represented her, Neya expressed her determination to support the educational drive for schools within the Abia North, adding that she would always give back to the immediate society.

She said the gesture was to assist pupils and students whose parents could not buy books for, calling on other philanthropic individuals and organisations to reach out to the less privileged people in the society.

She urged the pupils to cultivate reading habits geared towards a brighter future in their chosen field of endeavours, as well as devote ample time for their studies.

Neya, who is daughter of the Senator representing Abia North senatorial district, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, prayed for the students to be brighter than their parents, added that the purpose of the gesture centred on giving back to the society.

She said her father is determined and dedicated to giving back to the immediate community as it affects education.

She urged the students to make good use of textbooks and notebooks as a veritable tool to acquire knowledge.
