Video of Alleged Cult Initiation of Minor undergoing cult initiation goes viral, Soludo seeks public information

Anambra Police Command launch investigation into a viral video allegedly showing a minor being initiated into a cult group. The CP orders a full probe and urges the public to provide credible information.

The Anambra State Police Command has reacted to a disturbing viral video circulating on social media, which allegedly shows a group of young boys initiating a minor into a cult group.

In an official statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the police described the footage as “deeply troubling,” adding that preliminary reviews indicate the incident likely occurred within a community in Anambra State.

According to Ikenga, the acts depicted in the video are not only “criminal but also deeply offensive to public morals, safety, and the protection of minors — who remain one of the most vulnerable groups in society.”

He disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has ordered an immediate and comprehensive investigation into the incident.

“The Commissioner has directed specialized operatives from the Anti-Cultism Squad, the Juvenile Welfare Unit, and the State Intelligence Department to work collaboratively to verify the authenticity and origin of the video, identify the victim to ensure his safety and wellbeing, and apprehend all individuals involved or complicit in the act,” Ikenga stated.

The Commissioner, he added, “condemns in strong terms any form of child abuse, indoctrination, harassment, psychological grooming, or forced initiation,” emphasizing that such actions “will not be tolerated under any circumstances in Anambra State.”
