2023: We’re taking over Ebonyi, former Senate President, Anyim Pius, Egwu, others guarantee PDP
Former Secretary to the federal government of Nigeria and Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim has reassured members of the opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Ebonyi State that the party would against all odds, repossess power in the state and country in Nigeria in general, in the forthcoming 2023 general election.
Anyim boasted that the state government house belonged to the party, but, however, amidst regrets, recounted that the party had in the previous elected someone who eventually abandoned her.
Hear him: All I know is that Ebonyi government house belongs to PDP. We put somebody there, he ran away. We will pick another person and put there in 2023”.
The former SFG who prided in the strength of the party to be returned to power alongside Senator representing Ebonyi North at the National Assembly, Sam Egwu and other party faithful in the state, reiterated that the state, as it were, had been presided over by the PDP, and as such, the latter had resolved to ‘take the bull by its horn towards reclaiming what it had presumably lost.
Duo of Senator Anyim and Sen. Egwu, a former Governor of the state prided in the party, in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi state during a meeting of the party, they vowed that the party must occupy all elective positions in the state in the 2023 elections.
Addressing the party faithful, Senator Egwu reassured that the party would not disappoint the confidence reposed in her by the members.
Adding, he said: “By God’s grace by next elections as usual, we shall take over all positions including governorship.
“It has happened before, it has always been PDP for Ebonyi state and nothing can change it. I want you to remain steadfast, continue where you are, you are on the right part, you are on the right party and very soon, those who don’t believe will believe”.
Also in his remarks, the member representing Ohaozara, Onicha and Ivo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Livinus Makwe said the party will sack the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) at the federal and state levels
“PDP will takeover the federal government not just Ebonyi state in 2023 because PDP is a party that when they are in power, the people of Nigeria are happy and you see good things coming up. But since this people came, its only killings that we are seeing. By 2023, all those things will become things of the past”, he opined.
The member representing Ezza South state constituency in the state House of Assembly, Chris Usulour also speaking, said the party will remain united to ensure overwhelming in 2023 elections.
National Vice Chairman of the party, South-East, Chief Ali Odefa, said that PDP has all that needed to take over the state in 2023 and will resist rigging of the general elections to the core.
Odefa said “o not panic, come 2023, no man born of woman can write result against PDP before you or write the result against us.
Earlier, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party, Fred Udeogu, commended members of the House of Assembly, Senators from the state and others of their maximum support and sustenance of the party.
“They have made sacrifices, showed steadfastness and given support to the party which needs to return to power in the state.
“My gratitude also goes to the south-east Zonal committee for their supports as well,” he said.
