2023 PRESIDENCY: Wike’s Support For Gov. Bala, Very Childish- Ohanaeze Youth Council Thunders
The Apex Youth Socio-cultural organization of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) has vituperated Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, over his support for Gov. Bala Mohammed to emerge the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
Embittered by the recent development, the Council, described Wike’s clamour for Bala’s victory as “a childish demand since the history of Nigeria democracy ever”.
The Council, without mincing words, reprimanded Wike for reportedly harping support for a Northern president of Nigeria in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
While citing a report by Mr. Armstrong Bakam, a reporter in Punch newspaper on 2nd January 2022, the council regretted that Gov. Wike’s “support for a Northern for president in 2023 is a plan that will sink Nigeria.”
Speaking with newsmen in Owerri, Imo State capital, Sunday, January 2nd, during new year thanking Service at Truth Commission Church Owerri, the National President of Ohanaeze Youth Council, Comrd. Igboayaka O. Igboayaka berated Gov. Nyesom Wike the River State Governor, who stated that the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the 2023 presidential election could only be determined if his counterpart in Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, emerged the candidate of the party at the primary election.
Comrade Igboayaka who challenged Gov. Wike vowed that any of such move by the PDP would not only result in the extinction of the party but also Nigeria.
Hear him: “Governor Wike should dare it and see the collapse of PDP and Nigeria. No PDP flag will stand in Igbo land and Igbo if they dare deny a Southeastern PDP presidential tickets.
Igboayaka reminded Gov. Wike that Nigeria “is standing on redline of political survival or political death, and what will redeem Nigeria is a Nigerian president of Southeast Extraction.
“Nigeria is suffering from a political pandemic that will lead Nigeria into grave, but the only viable vaccine that is required for avert this is Southeast emerging the presidential candidate of PDP”
Continuing, he said:
“Gov. Wike is acting as a child who still baths only on his belly; he is ignorant of political instability and anarchy that will befall Nigeria if they go on with their desperate conspiracy to deny a South Easterner PDP presidential ticket.
Comrd. Igboayaka, therefore, advised the leadership of PDP to toll the path of equity, justice and peace thereby ceding their presidential ticket to Southeast.
