2022: Year To Objectively Hold Our Leaders Accountable…Sam Onuigbo
…As he wishes Constituents prosperous new year

The Chairman of Climate Parliament, Nigeria and member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency, Rep. Sam Onuigbo has charged electorate to objectively hold their leaders accountable, while eschewing emotional attachments, primordial sentiments, and selfish reasons.

Onuigbo who is the President, Global Legislators Organization for a Balanced Environment(GLOBE), Nigeria, and Vice President, GLOBE Africa stated this in his new year message to the people.

Speaking with an aura of optimism, the Lawmaker envisioned the year 2022 as one loaded with lots of promises, as he prayed for health and vitality from God,as well as peace to achieve their goals.

His goodwill message read in detail:

“On behalf of my family and the good people of great Ikwuano/Umuahia North/South Federal Constituency of Abia State, I welcome all of you to 2022! 2022 will be a very prosperous and exciting one for all of us.

“As we commence our journey into 2022, let us remember that we have been offered the opportunity of a fresh start, a brand new chance to evaluate our lives and tailor them to meet our set goals. We must therefore be appreciative of this and be intentional in all we do.

“As a people, politically, this year will also be very significant as we have a chance to begin again the process of electing leaders who will most likely represent our last chance to build on the process of ensuring that this decade is the decade when we finally and firmly place our feet on the path to progressive and sustainable development. We must be aware of this responsibility and embrace the year with this in mind. It is our collective responsibility as a people.

“It is also my desire that this is the year when we begin to objectively hold our leaders accountable, setting aside emotional attachments, primordial sentiments, and selfish reasons. We owe this to ourselves and to posterity. May we not be found wanting in this.

“More and more scientific evidences have recently underscored the fact that this decade offers humanity with the last chance to effectively reverse the apocalyptic impacts of climate change and save the future for our children. In 2022, we must collectively work as a global village to translate theories into actions. Thankfully, Nigeria now has a Climate Change Act due to our efforts. We must build on that.
