Nigerian Government Moves To Curtail Outbreak Of Coronavirus In Country

The Government of Nigeria in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health has embarked on proactive measures to ward off impending eruption of the dreaded disease, Coronavirus in Nigeria.

It would be recalled that the Federal Ministry of Health had yesterday, confirmed the first case of Coronavirus Disease in Lagos State, a situation which is the first reported case in the country since its outbreak in China.

A press statement made available by the Ministry states:
“The case is an Italian who works in Nigeria but returned from Milan, Italy to Lagos, Nigeria, on February 25, 2020. He was confirmed by the Virology Laboratory of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital part of the Laboratory Network of the Nigeria Center for Disease Control. The patient is critically stable with no serious symptoms, and being managed at Infectious Disease Hospital, in Yaba, Lagos”.

Corroborating, a close who spoke with Famous Reporters this morning disclosed that the patient has been quarantined in an unidentified part of the the state.

However, there are rumours that the patient was smuggled back to Italy upon discovering his health status.
